At Hodjapasha Culture Center, we present the Mevlevi Sema Ceremony inside a restored 15th-century Ottoman hammam in Istanbul's Sirkeci district. The historic building has been operating as a cultural center since its restoration in 2008.
Your ticket includes access to our Whirling Dervishes Ceremony and Dervish Experience Exhibition. The ceremony is a spiritual Mevlevi ritual accompanied by Sufi music and should be experienced as a religious and cultural ceremony rather than a conventional entertainment show.
Before the ceremony, explore our exhibition featuring information about dervishes and the Sema tradition, clothing, musical instruments, personal objects, books, interactive Rumi poems, Sufi music samples, dervish figures and video displays.
