Phuket Aquarium Cape Panwa

Discover the marine life of Southern Thailand at Phuket Aquarium, a family-friendly educational attraction located beside the sea at Cape Panwa. Operated as part of the Phuket Marine Biological Center, the aquarium focuses on the marine ecosystems of the Andaman Sea, aquatic research, conservation and the protection of endangered marine animals.

Phuket Aquarium is a compact regional aquarium rather than a large commercial oceanarium. It is commonly described as featuring more than 30 display tanks and over 100 species of fish, corals and other aquatic life. What You Can See

Tropical Fish and Coral Reef Displays

Explore displays inspired by coral reefs, sandy seabeds, rocky shores, mangroves and freshwater habitats. Depending on the current animal collection, visitors may see colourful reef fish, clownfish, parrotfish, butterflyfish, angelfish, moray eels, groupers, crustaceans and other species found around Thailand.

Underwater Tunnel Tank

Walk through the aquarium’s short underwater tunnel while fish swim above and around you. The tunnel tank may include large groupers, rays, small sharks and schools of tropical fish, although individual species cannot be guaranteed.

Touch Pool

The interactive touch-pool area gives children and curious visitors an opportunity to observe selected small marine animals at close range. Access and the animals available may change according to animal welfare conditions and staff instructions.

12-Sided Panoramic Tank

View marine life from different angles around the aquarium’s distinctive 12-sided display tank. Its surrounding viewing points make it one of the most visually interesting indoor exhibits.

Whale Exhibition

Learn about whales and other large marine animals through preserved specimens, skeletal displays and educational information. This section highlights marine biology as well as the conservation challenges faced by Thailand’s marine wildlife.

Mystery of the Underwater Cave Exhibition

Join an educational journey through underwater ecosystems and coastal conservation. Short marine-themed films and presentations may be shown during the day, but screening times should be checked upon arrival. These exhibitions and the Touch Pool, Whale Exhibition, Tunnel Tank and 12-sided tank are listed among the aquarium’s current principal zones.

Diver Feeding Show

A diver feeding presentation is normally held in the main tank. The venue’s current Google Maps update lists the show at approximately 11:00-11:30, making a 10:30 arrival a good choice for visitors who want to watch it. Show times may change without notice, so confirmation at the ticket counter is recommended.
